Check your own numbers before someone else does

Employers rarely get into trouble with the ACA because they refused to offer coverage. They get into trouble because nobody ran the count, or ran it on headcount instead of hours of service, or tested one entity when several should have been combined.

These tools exist so the count is something you can do yourself, in a few minutes, before a renewal conversation or a filing deadline forces the question. They are screening tools. They tell you whether the question deserves a closer look; they do not determine compliance, and they are not legal or tax advice.

Everything here sits inside the Employee Benefits & ACA Resource Center and supports the rules explained in ACA compliance.

Available now

ALE and ACA affordability calculator

Screen applicable large employer status from full-time and part-time hours, aggregate commonly owned businesses, and test whether your current employee contribution is likely to clear the affordability threshold.

The counting rules behind the tool

What makes an employee full-time, how part-time hours convert into equivalents, which hours of service count, and the mistakes that produce a wrong answer.

What ALE status obligates you to do

The 50-employee threshold, the prior-year averaging rule, controlled group aggregation, the seasonal worker exception, and what changes once you cross the line.

A screening result is a prompt to check the underlying data. It is never a filing position.

ACA compliance checklist

A year-round operational checklist covering measurement, offer documentation, safe-harbor selection and the reporting cycle.

Funding model comparison tool

Side-by-side comparison of fully insured, level-funded and self-funded structures against cash flow, claims risk, data requirements and administrative burden.

Stop-loss evaluation worksheet

What to check in a specific and aggregate stop-loss contract before binding, including contract basis, lasers and run-in and run-out terms.

Ran the numbers and did not like the answer?

A benefits compliance review reads your census, offer, contribution structure and filings against what the rules actually require, and produces a written list of the gaps.
